Ryan and I are both devoted dog parents who have always believed that dogs are more than pets—they are cherished members of the family.
As we got to know each other, our conversations naturally turned to dogs, and Ryan shared his background in professional dog training. I quickly realized I wasn't just talking to someone who loved dogs, but someone who had spent years training service dogs for injured veterans, children with physical or developmental challenges, and rehabilitation programs with exceptional precision and dedication.
For years, I had dreamed of doing more for animals. It has always broken my heart to see dogs returned to shelters simply because their families lacked the guidance or training to overcome behavioral challenges. Too often, those dogs never find another home. I have always believed many of these heartbreaking outcomes can be prevented through education, patience, and professional training.
As our conversations continued, we realized we shared the same vision: helping dogs stay where they belong—in loving homes with the families who care for them.
That shared passion became the foundation of Polished K9 Institute.
Ryan brings the professional training expertise, while I bring my passion for animal welfare, business leadership, and exceptional client care. Together, we've built a company dedicated to strengthening the bond between dogs and their families through compassionate, personalized, and results-driven training.
We believe every dog deserves the opportunity to succeed, every family deserves the confidence to enjoy life with their dog, and every successful training journey has the potential to keep one more dog in a loving home.

Meet Ryan
Ryan Martin
Co-Founder, CEO & Director of K9 Training & Behavior
Ryan Martin is the Co-Founder, CEO, and Director of K9 Training & Behavior at Polished K9 Institute.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Minnesota and brings a diverse background in corporate business, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
Ryan has five years of hands-on experience training service dogs for injured veterans living with disabilities, children with physical or developmental challenges, and correctional rehabilitation programs.
His training experience includes more than 120 specialized commands, such as medicine and cell phone retrieval and opening and closing doors, giving him a strong foundation in canine behavior, communication, and reliable obedience.
Today, Ryan applies those same proven principles to puppies, adolescent dogs, and family companions—helping dogs become calm, confident, and dependable while giving owners the knowledge and skills needed for lasting success.

Meet Frozan
Frozan Safiari
Co-Founder & Chief Financial Officer
Frozan Safiari is the Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer of Polished K9 Institute. An accomplished entrepreneur, she has successfully owned and operated multiple businesses, including restaurants, a day spa, salon, beauty supply store, and a medical skincare clinic. Her extensive experience in business leadership, client care, and operations helps ensure that every aspect of Polished K9 Institute reflects professionalism, integrity, and exceptional service.
A lifelong animal advocate and devoted dog parent, Frozan's passion for animal welfare extends far beyond the workplace. She has fostered and adopted dogs from local shelters, personally rescued lost dogs found wandering the streets, and helped reunite them with their families or ensure they received the care and safety they needed.
Frozan is also a proud supporter of organizations dedicated to improving the lives of animals around the world. She contributes to Nowzad NFP, whose mission is to relieve animal suffering in war-torn regions such as Afghanistan and Ukraine; 600 Million Dogs, a nonprofit committed to ending global pet overpopulation and preventing canine rabies through sustainable vaccination and sterilization programs; and Farm Sanctuary in New York, where she sponsors and has adopted rescued donkeys in support of the organization's mission to protect farm animals.
Her lifelong commitment to animal welfare and her belief that education, compassion, and responsible pet ownership can transform lives became one of the driving forces behind the creation of Polished K9 Institute.
Together with Ryan, Frozan is dedicated to providing families with the guidance, education, and support they need to build lasting relationships with their dogs while advancing the company's mission of strengthening the bond between people and their canine companions and helping keep more dogs in loving, permanent homes.
